Welcome to my blog
Hi my name is Abby. I like to play tennis, walk my dog, sleep, and hang out with my friends. My favorite food is lasagna but I will eat/try any type of Italian food. My favorite restaurant is Olive Garden because of their salad and breadsticks.
Due to the Coronavirus I have changed by website to "Life with the Coronavirus". From now on I will give you a day by day update on what's going on in my life and I hope you enjoy! |

Recently I got a Job as a bagger at Hornbachers Azule and it has been great! On Sunday that is what I did. I worked from Three to Seven and it got boring about Six because nobody was shopping. So for an hour I kind of just stood there and zoned out until one of my Managers told me I could go home even though I was supposed to work till Nine. Once I got home I showered, texted my friends and went to bed. On Monday everybody in Moorhead started online schooling which was interesting but I kind of liked it. I had all of my classes in the morning and then in the afternoon I can do homework and whatever I want which is nice. After that was done because it was almost 50 degrees outside I took my dog (Bear) on a 45 minute walk along the river which is now flooded. When I got home Bear was so muddy and wet because of the snow melting on the sidewalks that I had to give him a bath. When I was done with that my family and I had Papa Murphy’s pizza and cheesy bread which we haven’t had in a long time and tasted delicious. On Tuesday not much happened except that I got homework in every class. So that took me about Four hours to do all of it. But after dinner I got my whole family to play a game called Catan. It’s kind of hard to explain so it would be best if you looked it up yourself. But the game is so much fun if you like strategy games. I did not win but I was close so that’s pretty good. On Wednesday because it was so nice I went to the tennis courts at a park located down the street from me and practiced my jump serves and hitting the ball against the wall for about an hour. It felt so good to be hitting again. Also my chair at my desk where I do my online classes broke. I’ve had it since fifth grade so now I have to somehow fix it because we are in lock down and my Dad is too cheap to buy me a new one and say’s “if you want a new chair go out and buy one yourself”. 4/17/20
Has your internet ever crashed in the middle of a Google Hangout? Well mine did on Monday. It crashed in the middle of my Spanish hangout where I was getting help from my teacher. It was weird because it has never done that before and we don’t know why. Once my Dad restarted it everything was fine. But still, it was weird. After school I went to work even though I didn’t stay long or do much. It turns out that Hornbachers was cutting hours and really didn’t want to tell anybody. I was supposed to work from 4:30 to Nine but got sent home at Seven. Which only gave me Three and a half hours worth of work but that’s not all that happened. While on my break I spilled my water on the floor so I had to spend another 10 minutes after my break was supposed to be done cleaning it up. So now Hornbachers will probably just round my break to half an hour which means I’m only going to get paid for Three hours total. Which is ok but I’m always one of the first people they send home early. On Tuesday while looking for a current event to do for my Journalism class I discovered that my church was on the news which was cool to see. Then after I was done with school I was so bored that I read my brother’s Calvin And Hobbes cartoon book for a little while before dinner and yep it was boring just like I thought it would be. Then after dinner I watched some new Guy’s Grocery Games with my family on Hulu that were recorded and posted just as the first cases of coronavirus came to Washington and California. It’s different seeing people truly happy not knowing what's coming and how it’s going to affect their lives less than a month later after they competed. It got me thinking about how things used to be at school and how no one really got to say goodby to their friends. 4/30/20
It’s not even summer vacation and my family is already driving me crazy. They were so crazy on Monday that I had to get out of the house and take my dog for an hour walk just to get away from the noise which was nice. Then when I got home my grandparents were there dropping off our speedboat because it needed to get fixed so I had to help with that a little. After they left I made snickerdoodle cookies which are my favorite. After I made those my sister made sandwich cookies which I did not eat because I don’t like ice cream. Then my sister wanted french toast for dinner so we had that which was also good. But my Dad does not like those so he made something else. But it was my night for dishes so it took me about an hour and a half to do them all because my family made a lot of dishes. On Tuesday I went on a bike ride with Stacia again but we didn’t go far because we thought it was going to rain. But it was cool to see the clouds move across the sky. But besides that nothing else really happened. On Wednesday I had to clean Eight window screens in my house. They were so dirty that it got all over my pants so I had to change before I went on a bike ride with Stacia. Then for dinner my family had some pork shoulder that my sister made. I would not know how it tasted because I could not eat it even though I tried because of my braces. So later I had a bowl of microwave popcorn and a bag of Gardettos which in my opinion beats eating some meat. (5/14/20) For those of you who are in a high school musical extracurricular activity and have to do quarterly concert reviews is it boring because the one that I had to do was. On Monday my choir teacher gave us three college concert links to choose from and I chose the shortest one which was at a Christian based college and was an hour and Nine minutes long. I knew that they would sing some church songs but all of them were church songs. It made me feel like I was in church and I was so bored. After I did that my family had cabbage and sausage in a bowl for dinner which I found out was a German meal. I told Stacia later about it while on a bike ride. The bike ride was so cold that I was frozen by the time I got home. On Tuesday I slept in until 9:30 because I had no hangouts to go to for the first time and it was nice. Then I decided to volunteer for Five days this summer in July at a camp helping special ed kids learn to ride a bike. Then after I filled out the paperwork for the camp I went to work. I was supposed to work Four to Eight but they ended up overstaffing people so they sent me home at Seven which I was ok with because it was slow and I was beginning to get tired because I was not being kept busy. On Wednesday for Biology we had to do a partner project and my partner and I had to choose between Ten descriptions and do some research and then determine what disease a person had and I figured it out by just reading the description. The person had yellow fever and my partner just laughed at the fact that I knew that. I only knew it because I read a book on it over the summer. Then for dinner my family had pizza boats and they were good. We never have them so it was a nice treat for my siblings and I and it made my night of dishes easy. After I did the dishes I had to shower in my siblings bathroom because my mom is painting mine a light blue color. After I showered my sister found out that I had used one of her clean towels but I didn't know it was hers or else I wouldn’t have used it. But she got so mad at me that it was kind of funny because it’s just a towel and I’m only using it for a couple of days. |

After a bad day at work have you ever just wanted some doughnuts and by the time you get to the store there out? Well that happened to me on Saturday after my shift. The first thing that happened that day was that for Two hours of it I ended up doing drive up and I forgot a bag of a lady’s food in one of the bins. Then after that Hornbachers got a big Instacart drive up order that I had to do. The crazy part of that was it contained nothing but soda for the employees of a car dealership. After I got off doing drive up I got stuck on cart duty. I had to do it Three times that day. One of those times I had to train a new person in my grade how to do it. I have now been working at Hornbachers for about Two weeks and I still haven’t gotten my schedule. I'm getting frustrated because they keep pawning me off from one manager to the next so I talked to one of them on Saturday and they said “because we are getting so many new people we are kind of behind on giving you guys schedules.” So that night I went home without one and I wanted doughnuts but they were out so I got sprinkled easter bunny sugar cookies which were ok. The only real positive of the day was that I got a Ten percent off entire store coupon that expires next Tuesday. Sunday was much better. This time when I did drive up there were Two cars that drove up at the same time and I accidentally mixed up their orders. They both had kids of their own so they understood. I also got my schedule and ran into my friend Stacia at the end of my shift so we talked for a little while. Then that night I facetimed her and one of my other friends for an hour or Two until both of their phones died. 4/24/20
It has now been about a month since the quarinteening thing started and it has been interesting. On Monday I facetimed my friends before dinner and had shrimp tacos for dinner. I discovered that I do not like pineapple in tacos because it is too sweet. On Tuesday I went on a bike ride with my friend Stacia and we climbed a tree which was fun. Then when I got back I had tater tot hotdish for dinner. On Wednesday I worked Three to Eight. When I got there I found out that they are now requiring all employees to wear face masks which is not fun. But after work I decided to use my employee discount and buy myself doughnuts which were good. Then on Thursday I found out while doing my current event for Journalism that the Red River Valley Fair will still be going on this summer which I am happy about because it will give me something to look forward to this summer since everything else is either canceled or postponed. Then later after Stacia was done with work we went on another bike ride and biked almost the whole way to Trollwood. While we were biking a middle schooler tried asking us for our Snapchats. I said “nope because we are in high school and you are a stupid little middle schooler”. After I finished talking his friends bursted out laughing. I was surprised that I said that because that does not sound like me at all and I was expecting it to blow up in my face somehow so I was shocked when it didn’t. Before I left to go biking with Stacia my parents asked me to go get a tomato before dinner. So on my way back I stopped at Hornbachers to get a tomato for steak tacos. The tacos were good and I liked them much better than the shrimp tacos. (5/8/20
Do you have Disney Plus? If you do then you know how hard it is to resist watching a childhood movie like Tinkerbell. So that’s what I watched Monday night even though my family thought I was crazy. It brought back some childhood memories that I had forgotten about. On Tuesday it was my birthday so I am now 17. In the middle of choir my brother (Chris) came to my room holding a balloon and two sugar donuts that my Grandma dropped off which was a nice surprise that I was not expecting. Then after school my grandparents came over and we played Catan and Clue. Chris won at Clue and my sister won at Caton which is sad because I really wanted to win. Then for dinner we had manicotti which is my favorite meal and coffee cake for dessert. Coffee cake is my favorite type of dessert and the only type of cake that I really like. After that I opened a gift that Chris gave me and it had two pairs of underwear in it and nothing else which was gross but you have to remember that he is a 12 year old boy. On Wednesday I was so tired that I didn't want to get out of bed and almost fell back asleep. I also had the same dream that I had last week which is weird. It was about me rushing to tennis practice and always being late no matter how hard I try to be on time. Once in my dream I even left school half an hour early which I never do and I still wasn’t on time and then on top of that my teammates didn’t like me anymore. I’m glad that it was just a dream. So that is how these last couple of days have gone. (5/22/20) This week has been kind of boring because nothing really happened. Classes are winding down, not messing up at work as much, and my siblings aren't driving me as crazy as they usually do so that’s good. So nothing really happened on Monday besides me working Three to Seven. On Tuesday I helped my parents make a garden in our backyard and put a fence around it and while my Mom was cleaning windows she found Two baby bunnies living on the side of my window well cover. We didn’t know what to do because they were only about Two weeks old so too young to leave the Mom but we also don’t want them in our yard because our dog likes to eat the rabbit poop and then he gets sick. So I think we decided to wait Two or Three weeks until there old enough to leave Mom and release them somewhere else assuming that we can catch them. My Dad wanted to kill them now but my Mom said no which i’m glad of. So for my birthday which was a couple of weeks ago I got a black sweater for my friend Stacia that says “I'm so freaking cold”. On Wednesday my math teacher saw me wearing it and laughed because anyone that knows me knows that I am always cold. Also I had to work and while at work I picked up an extra shift for Thursday and Friday. |
